Welcome to Inkludify!
At its core, Inkludify is a bridge between lived experience, professional practice, and the vibrant, diverse minds that make our world unique. This space is dedicated to navigating the full spectrum of human experience—from neurodivergence and physical disabilities to the complexities of aging and cognitive health. Through actionable resources, honest insights, and a community-centered approach, we are building a more inclusive world for everyone.
The Story Behind the Name
The name Inkludify is built on three pillars:
- Inclusion: The foundation of everything we believe. It is the active, intentional effort to ensure that those who are “different” are not just present, but valued, empowered, and fully integrated into the fabric of our schools, workplaces, and communities.
- Ink: It symbolizes our commitment to creative, hands-on, and ludic (playful) learning. By prioritizing art-based approaches and tactile tools, we provide accessible ways for individuals to articulate their inner worlds, bypass traditional communication barriers, and discover that learning is most profound when it is sensory, expressive, and joyful.
- -ify: A suffix that implies action and transformation. Inclusion isn’t a passive state; it is a verb. It is something we must do, build, and foster every single day.
Together, Inkludify means to make the world a place where diversity is not just accommodated, but celebrated through the intentional act of inclusion.
Bridging Personal Insight and Professional Practice
My journey to this space has been shaped by two distinct, yet deeply intertwined, paths:
The Professional Perspective
My background as a language teacher and a Special Needs Assistant (SNA) gave me a front-row seat to the daily realities of mainstream education. I have walked the halls with teenagers and adults, seeing firsthand the gaps in our current systems and the incredible potential that exists when the right support is provided. I understand the challenges teachers and assistants face, and I know how isolating it can feel when you are trying to advocate for a student without the right tools.
The Personal Heartbeat
My passion for this work is not just professional—it is deeply personal. Growing up in a family that embodies neurodiversity—with an autistic mother and aunt, an autistic nephew and niece, and a dyslexic sister—I have seen the spectrum of experiences, from the brilliance of our minds to the hurdles created by a world designed for neurotypicality. These relationships taught me early on that “different” is not a synonym for “less,” but a powerful invitation to rethink how we teach, communicate, and connect.
Our Mission
Inkludify exists to simplify the complex and turn empathy into action. Whether you are an educator looking for classroom strategies, an SNA seeking professional guidance, a parent navigating a new diagnosis, or a neurodivergent individual seeking community, this site is for you.
We are here to demystify neurodivergence, provide practical resources that actually work, and foster a culture where every mind has the space to thrive.
